Recordings

The Fairfield Duo features Nora Suggs (flute and shakuhachi) and Candice Mowbray (classical guitar). This album includes the world-premiere recording of Richard Zarou's "Ghenani." Commissioned by Candice Mowbray, the piece explores love, memory and loss associated with dementia and aging. The work is touching, introspective and even hypnotic in its use of repetition. Album also includes works by Carulli, Villa-Lobos, Poulenc, Ibert and Tarrega. Especially unique to the Fairfield Duo is their pairing of Japanese shakuhachi flute with classical guitar, included on two pieces by Fukuda Rando.
